Your article on the plans to demolish the former St Benedict’s Convent in Manor Road (The Argus, May 15) refers to a report claiming “the original convent building was built in around 1900 to serve the Sisters of St Augustine’s Lady”.
In fact, the building was put up in 1906 as a convent and nursing home of the Augustinian Sisters.
It would be interesting to know the source of the misleading reference to this mythical lady.
