Scores of plant-lovers of all ages gathered for the Spring Seedling Swap.
The event in Preston Park, Brighton, featured a wide range of vegetables, herbs and mystery seedlings for growing spaces of all sizes.
People were given the chance to swap seedlings or take some away for a small donation.
There were also composting workshops and a chance to talk to talk to expert gardeners for advice and information.
The team of volunteers who look after the park's harvest demonstration vegetable garden were also on hand.
The vegetable garden has become a beacon for food growing in the city since it was planted in 2010 and has inspired a number of other park vegetable patches to spring up around the city.
The event was organised as part of the Brighton Fringe.
