Superheroes swapped their capes and cloaks for trainers and jogging bottoms on Sunday (May 19).
Fan favourites including Batman, Robin, Spider-Man, The Hulk and Wolverine took a break from the day job to take part in a charity run.
The fan favourites donned their sports gear for the Heroes Run 2013 – a mix of 5km and 10km races to raise money for Pass It On Africa.
The charity works to build schools and support education in some of the poorest areas of Africa.
James Macdonald, event organiser, said: “It’s one of the best years we’ve ever had. We had Pass It On Africa plus 11 other charity partners, 1,200 runners, 300 children and we raised nearly £30,000.
“Next year is our ten-year anniversary and we’re celebrating with a villains run, too.”
Last year’s runners raised more than £25,000.
