As a former pupil of the Brighton, Hove and Sussex Grammar School, leaving in 1964, I am following the arguments over the use of the green field attached to Bhasvic.
I always understood that the field was part of the education department assigned to Bhasvic, as it was in my time.
At what point did they allow the public to use the field as a park for playing and walking dogs?
I thought it was solely for the use of Bhasvic and nearby schools, as it had been fenced in.
I believe it should be kept as part of the education service as a school field so other schools can use the facilities safely.
If another school were to be built there, there may not be room for any sports requiring full-sized pitches or a running track.
Reserve it and preserve it for the use of pupils.
