I am getting really excited to see and experience the enabling works Brighton and Hove City Council has put in place to pave the way for the i360 (pictured) and all its peripheral cafes and bars on the seafront.
These include the roadworks, traffic signals, Regency Square car park improvements, strengthening the seafront arches and moving the paddling pool, not to mention arranging loans for the development.
I am quite prepared to put up with all the money being spent and promised, the sad, desolate state of the former paddling pool and the increased car parking rates.
Who could begrudge this? But what of the fabled i360?
Can anyone tell us when it will put in its first appearance, emerging from the lower esplanade and justifying all this optimism?
