I saw another picture of Brighton and Hove City Council leader Jason Kitcat in The Argus the other day (May 17), this time holding a Council-branded “anti-fracking” poster.
Is this really Coun Kitcat’s priority at a time when bins are overflowing on our streets?
There are concerns about fracking but, as far as anyone is aware, there are no proposals to carry out shale gas extraction in Brighton and Hove.
Coun Kitcat’s sentiments may be worthy, but he needs to focus on the challenges to his leadership from within his own group, and the urgent issues of industrial action by Cityclean, housing and school places.

I am pleased that rubbish was cleared from central Hove last week.
Now halfway into week three of a non-collection, may I appeal for a rubbish collection in Portslade?
I feel it is wrong for the council to reduce the pay package of Cityclean employees.
Many of us already realise that the council management appear to put themselves before the city or its staff.
