A Whitehawk schoolboy has won a competition to design a mobile phone character.
Aaron Wu, of St John the Baptist School, came up with the winning drawing of Marcus the Mobile in a contest organised by the Martlets Hospice in Hove.
Brighton and Hove mayor Bill Randall presented a certificate and a digital copy of the design to Aaron and spoke to St John the Baptist schoolchildren about the benefits of recycling.
Aaron’s design will be used by the Martlets on its website, in its shops and in promotional material to encourage people to recycle their mobiles.
The Martlets, one of mayor Randall’s chosen charities, is working with Forgottenmobile.com on the recycling scheme, which 16 schools are involved in.
To support the scheme email an gela.woodall@themartletshospic e.co.uk or visit www.forgotten mobile.com/martlets-hospice.
