It may look like a scene from Gulliver’s Travels but these giant men are actually part of a new summer art exhibition.
Visitors to Glyndebourne, near Lewes, will be greeted by the incredible statues that are twice the size of a normal human.
As well as Cataflaque – the man napping on the grass – there are half a dozen other statues which are intended to reflect the “style, drama and wonder” of Glyndebourne Opera.
Sean Henry, the artist behind the pieces, said that his works are designed to be integrated into everyday landscapes.
The 47-year-old said: “By being anonymous, they perhaps share something of the enigmatic concept of the ‘Unknown Soldier’.”
The exhibition will run until August 25.
