La Clique is an absolutely wonderful Fringe experience. Sleek, sexy and startling, I loved the show from start to finish. Despite starting nearly an hour later than advertised, the cabaret cast quickly won over the audience, soliciting some outrageous participation. The acts themselves ranged from beautiful displays of skill to, well, a big gay man in a shiny rabbit costume. The Spiegeltent itself is a magical venue which draws a varied audience. Because of this, La Clique felt like a true Brightonian show rather than a typical Fringe theatre piece. The show programmers found high quality acts – there were no weaker moments and each change of genre followed through from the previous performance well.

Chaos provided one of my favourite performances – her style and execution is so engaging: incredible costumes, oddball concepts and an untouchable air create the perfect cabaret act. The Wau Wau sisters also provided an explosive stage energy, and I loved their irreverent twists on circus acrobats. Their double trapeze act was incredibly inventive.

I would recommend La Clique to anyone who wants to experience the darker side of entertainment. A refreshingly subversive show.
