They dreamed a dream and they sang a song.

Staff from HMV in Brighton joined in a nationwide flash mob performance from the hit movie Les Miserables.

To mark the release of the DVD, they sang Do You Hear the People Sing? from the Oscar-winning musical in store along with the staff from around 50 other HMV stores across the country.

Ryan Grimond, the manager of the Brighton branch, said, “It was great fun.

"We were a bit amateur compared with the Oxford Street branch, who sounded like a West End production, but none of us knew the song because we’d only just got the lyric sheets.

"But we had about 30 customers listening to us and they looked like they were enjoying it – and we sold about 200 copies of the DVD. It was a good result.”
