A motorcyclist is fighting for his life following a crash this afternoon.
The rider, who is believed to be in his forties, was airlifted from New Church Road, Hove and taken to London’s Kings College Hospital shortly after midday.
The road is still closed between Seafield Road and Osborne Villas.
Police said his injuries were “life-threatening.”
It is believed the rider collided with a Mini Cooper when travelling down the busy road.
The Mini driver is thought to have suffered minor injuries.
One witness said that the motorcycle went into the back of the Mini as it slowed at traffic lights.
Others described how the man was lying face down on the road not moving.
The air ambulance performed a difficult landing outside the nearby St Andrews Old Church.
