A Hove landmark was one of dozens of windmills and watermills around the country to open its doors to the public on Sunday as part of an annual festival of milling heritage.
More than 130 people explored West Blatchington Windmill, including eight-year-old Finley Hunt and his brother Dexter, who enjoyed looking at the steam engines outside.
Among the attractions on the day were demonstrations by volunteer Clive Hamblin on how flour was milled on milling stones and radio operators who established contact with other mills taking part in the weekend, including one in Holland.
Organiser Peter Hill said: “It was great fun despite the weather. The children especially loved the milling demonstrations and we made £500, which will go towards the ongoing conservation of the windmill.”
West Blatchington Windmill will next be open to the public on July 28 for its fete day.
