Scores of competitors carrying two red spheres struggled along Hove beach for 3km to raise money for prostate cancer charities.

Female runners were invited to take part – but only if they wore a fake moustache.

Exhausted runner Tanvir Muiah said: “Running 3km on pebbles is a lot harder than you think.”
