To call the current installation of shirts covering the Clock Tower in Queen’s Road, Brighton, “art” is a disgrace.
I bet Brighton and Hove City Council wouldn’t give me – an artist born in Brighton and having lived here for more than 60 years – a wall to deface with a beautiful mural. This person is allowed to do this?
I thought it was against a local bylaw to deface statues and monuments.
It’s certainly not what I call “art” – it gives Brighton a bad name. It’s tatty. Queen Victoria wouldn’t have had it so why should we?
It’s an insult to good artists everywhere, including myself. Make this person take it down now.
