The A259 was shut for more than an hour after a car crash.
A van and a Ford Focus saloon collided in Little Common Road, Bexhill, on the A259, at the junction with Eastwood Road, at 8.45am this morning.
An 18-year-old, who was driving the car, was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital as a priority, a spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance Service confirmed.
The female suffered head and arm injuries in the crash but is not thought to have sustained any major injuries.
The driver of the van was treated on the scene by paramedics and did not require hospitalisation.
The A259 was closed in both directions for just over an hour but has since been reopened.
