I write from Hull, East Yorkshire, wondering if anyone knows about a long lost cousin residing in the Worthing area.
His name is Richard Anthony Collis, born on November 2, 1947. His original surname was Lincoln. He married Barbara (since divorced, maiden name unknown) in Stepney and had a daughter called Nicola in about 1980.
There were also two younger children from this marriage: a boy called Derek and a girl called Cheryl, born in Worthing.
We come from a large family whose ancestors include two Doggetts Coat and Badge rowing race winners. Once upon a time, we were as close a family as you can get.
But after the regeneration of the East End of London in the 1960s that changed and family members split up all over the place, hence why I’m in Hull and Richard’s in Worthing.
Another cousin, Trevor Easteal, is terminally ill with only a short time to live. The family is getting together to be with Trevor one more time and we would like Richard to be there too.
My memory keeps throwing up the idea that he worked for a local council in some capacity about 20 years ago.
Any help would be gratefully received. Email suefollon@towers.karoo.co.uk or call 01482 709661.
