Ronald Bayfield’s suggestion to divert eastbound A27 traffic via the Shoreham Holmbush roundabout and down Kingston Lane to the coast road (Letters, March 19) appears to have at least one obvious flaw: there is a railway bridge at the bottom of Kingston Lane, which would be completely impassable for high-sided vehicles.
