Rumour has it that Adele is planning a top secret wedding at her Sussex mansion.

The Oscar-winning singer, who lives in Western Esplanade, Portslade, is believed to be planning to marry her Brighton charity worker boyfriend Simon Konecki in a few months’ time.

The couple, who recently had a son, Angelo, after Skyfalling in love last year are believed to be hoping to tie the knot at their home in the city in the summer or autumn.

Adele bought the seafront mansion – in the same road as Norman Cook, Zoe Ball and Nick Berry – last year to be nearer Simon’s daughter from his first marriage.

After moving into the £2.5 million pad they added a nursery as part of renovation works. But if they want to hold their wedding ceremony at home, they will have to be granted a special licence.

Brighton and Hove register office can grant licenses to carefully selected venues.

However, Adele would have to make sure her home was “regularly available to the public”.

A source said that notoriously private Adele was “not the type of girl who wants a massive church wedding, hundreds of guests and photo rights sold and security”.

Registered venues

The source continues: “She would want everyone to let their hair down and have fun without anything too posh.”

If she chooses not to hold the ceremony at home, Brighton and Hove has more than 40 registered wedding venues.

Details of the Someone Like You singer’s apparent wedding plans were revealed in the magazine US Weekly.

The magazine said that Adele had chosen the designer who created her Oscars gown, Jenny Packham, to create her wedding dress.
