Two people were arrested after protesters super-glued and bicycle-locked themselves to the front of a factory for nearly six hours.
A group from Smash EDO gathered outside the EDO MBM Technology factory in Home Farm Road, Moulsecoomb, from 5.30am yesterday (March 19).
The protest, which involved at least three campaigners securing themselves to the gates of the factory, was held to mark the tenth anniversary of the invasion of Iraq.
A 58-year-old woman from Swansea and a 32-year-old man of no fixed address were removed and arrested on suspicion of aggravated trespass.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “A third protester, who had attached herself to the railings, asked to be released by police, who were happy to oblige. She was not arrested.”
The protest took place while Jessica Nero, 35, of Mitcham, Surrey, was appearing at Lewes Crown Court to appeal against her conviction for obstructing lawful activity during a previous protest outside the factory in April 2011.
Nero, who was fined £200 and given a two-year conditional discharge aft-er being convicted of the offence, had her case adjourned until April 12.
