Two protesters were arrested as they opposed the construction of a £98 million link road.
Work began clearing trees for the new highway between Hastings and Bexhill on Friday, December 14.
Campaigners against the scheme vowed to carry out non-violent protest against the developers.
They are claiming that the project was “flawed” for economic and environmental reasons.
Yesterday (December 17) two people were arrested as they attempted to stop trees being cut down.
Two other people remained up trees in Sidley, near Bexhill.
