A group of dedicated fundraisers cycled more than 9,300 laps of Preston Park cycle track to raise money for charity.
The Pedal in Preston Park event on Saturday, October, 27 saw volunteers attempt to cycle the distance from Brighton to Brazil to raise funds for Martlets Hospice and the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
Organised by Alistair Milne, 2012 is the third year that the charity event has been run in memory of Mr Milne’s wife, Rachel, who died from Motor Neurone disease in November 2009.
Mr Milne said: “It is a great event for people to come down and participate in using a really great local facility.
"The main reason [for the event] is to raise funds for two charities that do fantastic work, especially in this climate where funding is so crucial to these charities.”
The previous two Pedal in Preston Park events have helped raise more than £25,000 for the MND association and Mr Milne said he hoped this years event would raise between £5,000 and £7,000
