Muriel Margaret Hart
HART Muriel Margaret MBE Celebrated musician and teacher. Passed away on 29th December 2023, aged 99 years. Beloved aunt to Elizabeth, Harriet, Lucia and Jolyon. She will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends and colleagues. Funeral will take place on Monday 22nd January at 2pm at Woodvale North. Muriel was a staunch supporter of, and adviser to, Strings Attached: Brighton & Hove Chamber Music Society as it was being established more than a decade ago. Her guidance in the early days was much appreciated as was her regular attendance at the concerts during the first few years of the society’s existence. Her energy and determination that it should succeed were remarkable.

A much loved teacher at Patcham Junior school, gave me a love of needlework, though I only ever got to play the triangle or castanets in music lessons. Rest in peace Miss Hart.
