JOHN COLLINS Passed away peacefully on 23rd November 2023, aged 88. Beloved Husband of Arlene. Much loved Dad of Emma and the late Nick. Dear Grandad to Natasha, Yasmin, Jake, Ben, Danielle and Simone, Grandad-in-law to Lauren and Will and Great-Grandad. Funeral Service at St Matthias Church, Ditchling Road, Brighton on Wednesday 20th December at 12.00noon. Family flowers only please. If wished, donations in memory of John for the Churches of St Matthias and St Richard can be made at the funeral service.

I remember John with fondness, from my time with the Wandering Minstrels. He was a long-time member of the men's chorus and such a reliable stalwart of the society. We recognised his contribution by making him a life member although, sadly, the group was disbanded only a year or so after. We always enjoyed our visits to St Richard's, to do a show for the members of the congregation and their friends, and were royally looked after by John and Arlene.
Until he retires, I always looked out for John when I visited Barfield's and was delighted if able to have a chat with him. Such a gentleman.
