Maureen - what a legend. Very happy memories indeed of my school days where Maureen was a strong, impressionable character in my development and learning. Huge respect for a very special lady who will be remembered very fondly by so many. R.I.P. Hawkeye - Love and thanks for being a positive influence during my teenage years. Kay xx

Maureen will certainly be missed, she was my teacher back in the 70’s. Many of us “old” Portslade girls met up with Maureen regularly for our coffee morning. We loved to reminisce about those school days together.
Maureen did had a reputation for being strict, however she taught us all good manners too.
To this day I cannot leave a table without ensuring my chair is placed back under the table, where of course it should be. “Hawkeye” was certainly unique and sometimes terrifying, however we wouldn’t be the same people without her lessons of life. Happy memories never fade.

Love 🥰
Jane
