Sad news indeed. I was apprenticed with Colin in the early 60's at Moores Garage in Brighton and spent many weekends and nights working with Colin and his father Lionel (quite a character!) on their competition cars. Colin and I used to compete in motorbike scrambles. He was a very skilled mechanic with an infectious chuckle and sense of humour. I went back to Starleys Garage in Hythe Rd in 2020 to try to make contact with him but the occupant was unable to help me. Sadly too late now. RIP Colin.

Colin was a friend and neighbour from our early life in Brighton and I will always have fond memories of him and all the special times we had together over the years. Rest in peace dear friend.

Colin had great empathy with all whom he met and never had a bad word to say about anyone. He achieved much in his life, climbing the Matterhorn to raise money for a cancer charity, winning two formulae 1 championships with Brabhams team and helping folks in Romania. He was devoted to his family, helping his son establish himself. He thought and could see the best in us all.
