PACKING a picnic to catch up with friends and family is the perfect way to celebrate the longer, warmer days of summer.
As it’s national picnic week, Brits will be scrambling for their blankets, cutlery and delicious treats to get outside and embrace the national event.
In Sussex, we have some of the best spots in the country for eating al fresco and drinking in the stunning views.
So, it may come as no surprise that the county has some of the most popular picnic spots in the country.
The meal box delivery company Hello Fresh analysed the number of Instagram posts for 22 of the most recommended picnic locations in Britain.
More than half of the top posted picnic locations are in the South of England.
Brighton beach topped the list of Britain’s favourite picnic spots, with 834,000 posts on Instagram.
Photographs of Seven Sister country park in Seaford have been posted more than 300,000 times leading the beauty spot to be ranked third.
Out of the 22 locations, Little Venice is the second most popular picnic location in Britain, with 319,000 hashtags on Instagram.

Hampstead Heath in London racked up to 296,000 posts on Instagram.
While the top four most photgraphed picnic locations are in the South of England, Brits are also searching the web to find the perfect picnic facilities for the national event.
Many famous beauty spots, such as the Lake District and Derbyshire, continue to be popular locations for many.
Picnic hampers, picnic bench hires and picnic basket have all spiked over 100 per cent in searches in the last seven days, suggesting preparations are underway for the perfect June picnic.
Under current Covid-19 guidance, people and their households can relax in the park, sunbathe and go for a picnic.
Gatherings must not exceed 30 people unless covered by a legal exemption and you should not visit a park if you have any symptoms.
