PIERS Morgan’s wife asked ITV to “bring him back” during a surprise appearance on Good Morning Britain.
The Newick-born TV presenter was vindicated by Ofcom after 58,000 complaints were made to the regulator about his remarks regarding the Duchess of Sussex.
The 56-year-old quit the ITV breakfast show in March after storming off set following a clash with co-star Alex Beresford.
While Piers hadn't appeared on GMB following the ruling, his wife Celia Walden did as she promoted her new novel Payday.
Introducing the journalist on Thursday’s show, GMB presenter Susanna Reid joked that Piers’ “real wife” was joining herself and Ben Shepard on the show.
Celia responded by saying: “You'd be a much better wife than me. People were trying to play up the rivalry between us."
She added: "If you can please bring him back ... he'll probably storm on.”
Piers was soon to take to social media, tweeting the word “wifeys” with a single love heart, alongside a photo of the Susanna and Celia on the show.

Asked as to whether Piers had received any other TV offers since the ruling, Celia teased that he had, stating: "I don't think he'll be kicking around the house for much longer."
Susanna went on to describe Piers as a "toddler at day care" when he was at GMB and that "what struck [her was that she] and Piers used to argue.”
She added: "But you and Piers never argue.”
While Celia admitted that there had been some tension since Piers' abrupt exit earlier this year, she said that they still didn't argue that much.
Recalling the moment when Piers stormed off set, Celia said that she initially hadn't known what had happened.
"It was a big deal - there was lots of people outside the house and it's been a very strange time," she said.
"Piers has been very jubilant today, as you would expect.
"I was in an eternal argument because I disagreed with 99.9 per cent of what he said," Susanna said, but she asked Celia to send Piers a message from the team.
"Send our very best, he's not coming back," she told her.
Celia responded: "Oh, well he can come on whenever, he's available."
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
