A VOICE actor has received a top award for her work during the Covid-19 lockdowns.
Katie Flamman has recorded voiceovers for the NHS and the BBC during the pandemic.
She helped businesses reassure staff working from home and scientists to communicate breakthroughs in the battle against the virus.
Katie, from Ashurst Wood said that at a time when people were isolated "clear, calm communication was essential".
She has now been recognised for her outstanding voiceovers during this time.
Katie was named the female voiceover artist of the year at a ceremony in London.
Speaking after the One Voice Awards, she said: “I’m delighted to be recognised as the UK’s top female voice.
“When so many people were isolated during lockdown, clear, calm communication was essential."
"My job as a voice over artist is to share my clients’ stories.
"Last year, connecting with people was more important than ever.
"I helped businesses to reassure staff working from home, enabled scientists to communicate breakthroughs to peers around the world and brought people together at remote events.
"Of course my job is about delivering great customer service as well as great performances.
"I’ve been shortlisted for the best female voiceover award for the past 4 years and I’m so grateful that my hard work during 2020 was recognised this year.”
Katie is a former TV news broadcast journalist who works from her professional home studio.
She records corporate, commercial and character voiceovers for clients all over the world, including American Express, the BBC and the NHS.
