The brains behind the hugely-popular comedy revue The Treason Show has turned his back on the theatre for a new project.

Following in the footsteps of the Faulty Towers Dining Experience, which has had two successful Brighton runs, Mark Brailsford has created his own piece of interactive dining theatre, ’Ello ’Ello.

The diners who visit ’Ello ’Ello’s café for the two-hour show will meet its hapless owner Renaux Coupé and his wife Eadie as they attempt to foil the Gestapo’s dastardly Herr Flugentofter, shelter two escaped war prisoners and hide a priceless masterpiece.

Visitors to the café should be warned: the owner and his partner might require help hiding the prisoners, find treasure in their chair or be serenaded.

The tribute act is a pastiche of the much-loved TV series ’Allo ’Allo, which in turn was a parody of the TV series Secret Army, and uses an original script.

A three-course French-themed meal is included in the ticket price and Brailsford says tributes to Casablanca and Quentin Tarentino’s Inglorious Basterds are thrown in for good measure.

“It is an evening of farcical consequences,” he says.

“The café plays host to a plot to kill Adolf Hitler and the diners are integral to the action.

“Whatever happens, this loving tribute will be an hilarious dinner experience.”
