One of Shakespeare’s best-loved villains is brought to life in open air touring theatre company Oddsocks’s annual visit to Newhaven Fort.
Medieval England is rejoicing as the vicious in-fighting between the houses of York and Lancaster appear to be at an end. But Richard, Duke Of Gloucester. has other ideas as he employs treacherous methods to get his hands on his brother’s crown.
Writing as a subject of the Tudor court it could be argued Shakespeare’s play isn’t all that historically accurate, but it is hard not to enjoy the montrous mayhem the title character creates with his lust for power.
