The top-hatted magician with arguably the filthiest mouth in comedy is previewing his one-night only appearance at the Edinburgh Festival with his show Comedian, Magician, Psychopath.
The former star of The Shamen’s Ebeneezer Goode video has been touring the comedy circuit for 25 years, working in the areas of extreme offensiveness and card tricks.
His first manager, the late Malcolm Hardee, originally billed him as being too shocking to go on television, and the few appearances he has made have generally been controversial.
His 1992 BBC show The Pallbearers Revue apparently led to a record number of complaints, while his career has also seen him get punched in the face at the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival for insulting the Canadians (by pointing out their biggest problem was that half the country spoke French and the other half let them).
He is already working on a new show for 2010 provisionally called I’d Happily Punch Frankie Boyle In The Face, which is set to visit the Brighton Dome in April.
* Starts 8pm, tickets £14.50/£12, Sun and Thurs SOLD OUT.
