Rome is under martial law, meaning nobody is safe from unscrupulous police chief Scarpia.
When a political prisoner goes to a church for sanctuary, the painter Mario Cavaradossi selflessly helps him.
Unfortunately, Scarpia arrests Cavaradossi and tells the artist's lover, the celebrated opera singer Floria Tosca, she must sacrifice her virtue to save him.
Music Theatre 2000's production of Puccini's thriller, which features three of the most vivid characters in opera, is being performed in Italian with a live orchestra.
