The elegant white columns of Brighton Unitarian Church make an ideal outdoor stage – as country-rockers The Laylanas discovered this August when they staged their first charity gig on its steps.
The event raised more than £250 for national autism education charity Treehouse, so the Brighton five-piece are having another pop tomorrow, with a new line-up of guests and the intention of raising even more funds.
Dubbed “the new Fleetwood Mac” and signed up to support psych-country act Alabama 3 on their 2010 tour, The Laylanas released their first EP, Be Right Back, last month. They will be joined by the folk, grass and post-punk of up-and-coming local act Sweet Sweet Lies, rock and surf noir band Gentleman Starkey, Amity and city favourites Gloria Cycles.
* 1pm until 5pm, free (donations encouraged for charity). Visit www.myspace.com/thelaylanas for more information
