Tipped as one of the emerging voices of UK mainstream jazz, MOBO Award-winning saxophonist YolanDa Brown is paying a rare visit to Hove tomorrow.
With a CV that includes work with Terri Walker, Soweto Kinch, Brenda Edwards, Courtney Pine, Russ Henderson, Janet Kay and Alexander O’Neal, her profile is rapidly rising across the country.
So far she has two EPs to her name, Finding My Voice and A Step Closer, and is working on a debut album, which is due out later this year.
With a diary that began with shows at the House Of Commons and Indigo 02 to mark the inauguration of Barack Obama, it looks like 2009 could be her year.
