The loss of frontman Ian Dury hasn’t stopped his former backing band from playing his timeless songs to appreciative audiences around the world.
But The Blockheads aren’t just a nostalgia trip.
With new frontman Derek The Draw, Ian’s late minder and friend of ten years, the band has recorded two albums, 2004’s Where’s The Party, and newbie Staring Down The Barrel, which was released this week.
With original Blockheads Chris Jankel, Mick Gallagher, Norman Watt-Roy and Johnny Turnbull still in the line-up, this is the closest anyone will get to the Lord Of Upminster’s songs as they should be heard.
- Starts 8pm, tickets £18/£20. Call 01273 736222.
