The inaugral Eastbourne Festival is welcoming Brazilian-born master percussionist Adriano Adewale and his international quartet.
Adriano, born in Sao Paulo, has been living in London since 2000, working with the likes of Zoe Rahman and Seb Rochford.
Adriano was inspired to learn the drums at the age of 15 when he saw a band performing at a party. "The music just hit me so strongly," he says. "I knew I wanted to be involved with it."
He is currently working on a debut album with his band, featuring Nathan Thomas on double bass, Kadialy Kouyate on kora and vocals, and Marcelo Andrade on flute, sax and violin.
- Starts 7.30pm, tickets £13.50. Call 01323 412000.
