Brighton Festival Chorus is marking its 40th anniversary and the Easter season with a performance of Bach's interpretation of the Gospel Of St John.
The chorus is performing St John Passion in-the-round, in and among the audience in an intimate Proms style, under the direction of James Morgan. Among the special guest soloists are Timothy Robinson as the Evangelist and Paul Reeves as Christus, with mezzo Juliette Pochin, soprano Sarah Tynan, and baritone Christopher Maltman.
Bach's piece, which was premiered in Leipzig in 1724, follows the psychological and emotional conflicts in Christ's final days.
- Starts 7.30pm, tickets from £7.50. Call 01273 709709.
