Winning the Shockwaves NME Awards 2008 prize for Worst Band might put some bands off coming to the UK, but The Hoosiers had sold out the Dome long before the "award" was announced. On the plus side, the Reading band missed out on doing the double and getting the NME's worst album of the year award too, as that went to Britney Spears for Blackout.

What has probably irritated the NME readership is the cheery trio's American-influenced pop sound, following The Feeling's catchy daytime radio model to make songs such as Goodbye Mr A and Worried About Ray almost ubiquitous on the airwaves.
