As comfortable performing pumping dancefloor burners as slinky couchcuddlers, Minneapolis's Alexander O'Neal was one of the key soul vocalists of the Eighties.
Best known for tracks such as Criticise, All True Man and Saturday Love, he has gone on to make two further albums, as well as releasing a live collection in 2005 to illustrate his passion for entertaining crowds.
The title of his most recent studio album, Saga Of A Married Man, could hardly have been more appropriate for a man who has eight children and three marriages to reflect upon.
His days of selling out Wembley six times may be long gone, but O'Neal remains a charismatic stage presence.
His bed always makes an appearance during shows, and female admirers may swoon at the prospect of being invited on stage to enjoy being serenaded with champagne and red roses.
