The newly confirmed chief film critic for The Observer is to visit Brighton.
Mark Kermode, who is to replace Philip French after his 50 years writing for the national newspaper, will appear at Duke Of York's Picturehouse.
Expect an evening of analysis and ranting as the steely reviewer aims to prove the professional critic is worthy of his salt in the internet age.
Kermode will also take questions from the audience at the Brighton leg of an eight-date tour to promote his new book, Hatchet Job: Love Movies, Hate Critics.
Tickets for the talk at 8pm on October 7 go on sale on Friday, September 6.
