A modest looking carousel sits in the middle of the level, with a crowd of easily over 100 eagerly awaiting for it to come to life, and come to life it did.
The European music slowly started, whilst a young lady dressed in tatters half heartedly swept the hay off of the carousel. Suddenly a group of energetic dancers joined her, tossing the broom into the air, she stopped working and started dancing.
The dancers were highly energetic throughout their performance and the choreography incredibly precise.
The story told completely through dance was easy to understand and very enjoyable, with enough entertainment value for those not hugely interested in dance to still enjoy the show.
The music, lighting and dance changed styles with the mood of the story, constantly switching from the emotional to the fun. Impressively using lighting and shadows to also tell a story off stage worked well.
It was clear to see that this troupe were serious performers, however they understood what was required to entertain a rowdy Brighton crowd on a Saturday night.
