For the lucky few at The Warren – a kind of hidden wonderland off West Street, the beauty of which seems to grow each year – producers Kye Gibbon and Matt Robson-Scott offered a radio-friendly dose of dance in their Gorgon City guise.

Two keyboardists, a backing singer and drummer invited different guest vocalists to sing over each of their drum and bass and garage-infused compositions.

The shadow of Disclosure loomed large when Yasmin, the singer with whom they created their debut EP, Real, added faintly plaintive lyrics to the song of the same title.

But 19-year-old MNEK’s sonorous range stood out on chart hit Ready For Your Love, not least because he carried it off in a pair of black and gold trousers with matching hat.

Klaxons showed fearless sartorial style, too, wearing gold and silver suits for a show which underlined how far dance music has moved on since their new rave peak seven years ago.

Even at a blistering rock pace, there was something melancholy about hearing old hits Atlantis To Interzone and Golden Skans played so long after their indie ubiquity.

Still, their invigorated energy on new track Show Me A Miracle suggested their second coming is not in vain.
