Blood, beats and booze: Tek-One brought it all on Monday evening, rounding off what’s been billed as a final live tour. Fast-rising crossover crew Tyler Mae provided support, their relentless, grime-metal mash-up getting bodies moving on the dancefloor. It was fairly one-dimensional fare, but effective while it lasted.

This wasn’t the busiest of shows, Bermuda Triangle’s live room barely a quarter full by the time the headliners showed up.

High-octane dubstep was the name of the game, bolstered by live drums and a few choice covers. Tek-One are seasoned campaigners by this point, and to their credit they approached this occasion with all the frenzy and testosterone-fuelled impact they could muster.

Things got a little heated as dancefloor became moshpit, a few folks emerging less than unscathed. Still, even those who’d taken a battering came away with a smile plastered on their faces.

The trio were determined to go out in style, slamming through tracks from their long gestating debut album, Sleep Equals Myth. As far as the less cerebral end of dubstep goes, theirs was a solid performance. Not one for the history books, it was at least a lot of sweaty, excitable fun. Sometimes that’s just about enough.
