I suspect there are quite a few among us who have been reliving Bowie’s exceptional music from the past 40 years or so recently.

Not only have we been treated to a new album and a sell-out exhibition at the V&A in London, but we’ve also been packing into Concorde 2 for a pretty good tribute band.

From the opening Five Years, Halloween Jack (vocals, outrageous costume, make-up and the occasional acoustic guitar) had us all mesmerised with his interpretation of Bowie’s hairstyles, stage mastery and south London twang.

He was accompanied by a collection of talented musicians, with Mick Ransom brilliantly recreating Mick Ronson’s guitar sound from the Ziggy Stardust era in the first half of the show.

Some of Bowie’s hits such as Loving The Alien and Fame proved too tricky to pull off but overall this was a tribute act that delivered.

From the early hits to Ashes To Ashes, the audience sang along and were reminded of the man who appeared like a prophet from another planet and worked his way into our collective memories with such outrageous style.
