DAVID Essex is coming to Sussex.
The singer, composer and actor – and Seventies’ heart throb – has announced his first major tour in more than four years and will be playing at the Brighton Centre on October 17 next year.
Singles including Lamplight, Hold Me Close and Gonna Make You A Star made Essex a household name and the 18-date UK tour will see him perform much-loved hits spanning his career.
He said: “I’ve had so many requests to tour again, so I’ve decided to do one more tour. I’m looking forward to touring the UK again in October 2020, it should be fun.”
Essex first shot to fame after playing Jesus in the musical Godspell. Since then he has enjoyed a remarkable career combining concerts, records, theatre, composing, films and television.
He has had 23 Top 30 singles in Britain. His hit Rock On topped the charts and sold more than a million copies.
Tickets go on sale on Friday at 10am via gigsandtours.com and ticketmaster.co.uk
