Stevens has just celebrated 25 years of trading, having opened in a prominent office in Henfield High Street in 1988, making them the longest-serving agent in the village.
The team at Stevens pride themselves on their extensive knowledge of the local area and on their reputation for excellent and helpful staff who guide vendors and purchasers through the property process.
Kevin Joyes the owner of Stevens says: “The ethos of the company is to offer traditional values of integrity and commitment to ensure that clients come back time and time again safe in the knowledge that whatever current market conditions prevail, Stevens will use their best endeavours to achieve the highest price possible based on a comprehensive knowledge of the locality.”
Kevin has been in estate agency since starting out as a junior sales negotiator in Shoreham, and learning his trade over many years. He became a licensed member of the National Association of Estate Agents back in 1982, becoming a Fellow two years later.
Kevin has lived in the village for 24 years with his wife Carolynne, who is also part of the team. Kevin has a wealth of experience in dealing with residential and country-house properties and prides himself on delivering a bespoke service. He is held in high regard by many local property owners for whom he has been privileged to act for on numerous occasions.
Gary Marples joined the Stevens team in August 2011, bringing with him his wealth of experience in the industry, and he now lives in the village with his children. Gary has been in agency for 26 years and has a degree in estate management. He has worked in village and town locations dealing with residential and country-house properties and prides himself on delivering a highly personal service. For 15 years Gary ran his own successful estate agency in Hassocks and Hurstpierpoint and truly knows how important a first-class reputation is in a village. Tenacious and with a true interest in property, Gary loves how different every day is in estate agency and enjoys the satisfaction of helping make vendors and purchasers plans go as smoothly as possible.
Carolynne works alongside her husband Kevin and Gary providing vital administrative support and is an integral part of the team meeting and greeting applicants and clients alike. She also has a vast amount of local knowledge, not only of the properties in the village but also of village activities, as she has brought up her two daughters while living locally. Her secretarial expertise and IT skills are evident in the way properties are offered from within the office and online.
In March 2010 Stevens expanded their business, opening a lettings department led by Emily Joyes, who is the daughter of the owner Kevin, offering a full service which can be tailored to individual needs. With a growing portfolio Emily has seen the lettings market go from strength to strength and due to the high demand for rental properties has expanded her workforce from just herself to a team of three.
