THE OLDEST open air freshwater swimming pool in the UK is to host a charity fundraiser this weekend.
The annual Midsummer Madness event is due to take place at Pells Pool in Brook Street, Lewes, on Saturday, July 31.
Organised and run by LYT Productions, the event will be raising money for National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) and the Tidemills Project.

Pells Pool, which celebrated its 160th anniversary earlier this year, is an unheated spring-fed pool.
The pool is 50 yards (46 metres) long and 25 years (23 metres) wide, while other facilities include a tree-lined green lawn, sun terrace, children's paddling pool, floats and other recreational equipment.
The venue has chosen to limit the number of guests, hosting 80% of its normal capacity.
No food and drink will be allowed to be taken into the venue, with refreshments sold at the event as part of the charity fundraising.
The event is due to run from 7.30pm to 10.30pm.
Pells Pool reopened on May 8 after a long-term closure due to Covid guidelines.
As per normal opening hours, the pool will close at 4pm on Saturday and open at noon the day after the event.
Sunday’s morning lane swims have been cancelled to allow time to safely prepare the pool for public access.
Limited tickets may still be available through Tongue and Groove Ticket Tailor.
