Profile: A good tip for 2009 is Lyrebirds, who seem to take their influences from the same early-1980s post-punk scene as NME favourites White Lies. Think Echo And The Bunnymen and The Teardrop Explodes, as can clearly be heard on this moody Download Of The Week.

The band have been working on a new single with Anthony Theaker of Hope Of The States and promise a clutch of new songs for their first shows of 2009.
