Profile: Taking their name from a line in the cult 1980 version of Flash Gordon, indie five-piece Lostaura has been on the South East live scene since 2007. They have gained radio support from BBC 6 Music and XFM, and a rave write-up from The Independent’s Simon Price, for their piano-driven sound powered by frontman Dave McCormack. Dave is a former Top Of The Tots finalist, while the band’s drummer is the son of Bonnie Tyler’s former guitarist and keyboard player. The band is preparing to release its debut six-track mini-album The Hiding Place on independent label The Animal Farm.
