Albion have allayed fears over Glenn Murray’s injury – but are keeping an open mind as to when he will return to action.
Boss Chris Hughton has been told by the club’s medical staff that Murray’s ankle problem is minor.
The club will monitor him over the current international break with the hope that he could train next week.
Although they are reluctant to put a timescale on his return, it is thought the two forthcoming trips to his previous club Bournemouth are not out of the question.
Hughton told The Argus today: “We are delighted it is only a minor ankle injury. It now depends on how things settle down.
“It is expected he will be out for a matter of weeks.”
Murray himself took to social media today in response to a report that he had been ruled out for three months.
He replied: “Have I? That’s news to me.”
